For a batting cages / arcade / food and mini golf place, it is pretty good. 4 stars for fun, its clean, the staff is helpful, easy to find parking, an overall pleasant experience. Once, I tried coming here and some company had rented the whole park for a day and were not letting other people in, but they did give out coupons for free mini golf, good on them for making the effort to do something nice for the customers. I have to take off one star because the batting cages have stopped working more than once on a visit, one of the major attractions. My earliest memories of coming here was the mid 90's when it was called family fun center, same batting cages, mini golf and bumber boats. I think they used to have some tank ride that is not there anymore, maybe it got too expensive (how many mechanics are trained on how to repair a vehicle that can carry the body of a tank and a turret that can shoot tennis balls? ). There is another Boomers on El Cajon (which is 2 stories, looks a bit more modern, their dining room is upstairs). The Clairmont location is the better option because Clairmont has a slightly larger arcade and the parking lot is easier to access. But check out both and see for yourself. Review of the reviews: Yes, its the same carpet and same props on the mini golf course they have had for decades, but its still cheaper than a day at Disneyland. I have not eaten the food here, but nor would I because there are plenty of cheaper / better places to eat nearby that you can walk to. You could spend an afternoon or day here, but that would get expensive. If you want to save money, I would suggest either mini golf or the batting cages, then go to the arcade, everyone in the family can try the basketball game and see who can get the highest score. Do not buy their over priced drinks, walk down the street, buy a round of sodas from McDonald's and you can talk about you favorite memories of playing arcade games.

We had a great time and so much fun on a Sunday Funday playing mini golf with another couple! There are rather large golf courses so it is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. They also have a giant arcade and a go kart area.

If you purchase rides individually they can be quite expensive, but I had season passes last year. They offer various deals on the passes throughout the year, but you can generally get them for something around the $45-50 range. They include unlimited rides and mini golf all year, and some deals offer additional arcade or batting cage credit. There were specials at the end of the year that gave you an early start to your year, and they have monthly specials like getting to play one of the games for free. It seemed like there are lots of things to do here, but the go carts and the upside down spinner were really the only rides that were appealing for a young teen. I think that elementary school children would probably have more fun. Not their fault that we were aging out of the fun! But I do hold them responsible for their frustrating card readers. We had no problem using our cards to get on the rides, and there were always attendants there who could have helped us if anything had come up. But using them in the arcade was frustrating when the cards would sometimes fail to scan. It would happen repeatedly for several minutes, then they would work for a swipe or two, then they would stop working again. It was especially frustrating when it happened during timed play (we had 30 minutes of unlimited arcade time), as it meant we lost out on some games. Overall, I think the annual passes are a good deal if you have younger kids who will be happy with more of the smaller rides.

I grew up with a Boomers in the area that I grew up in Norcal. I remember that specific location up north used to be called Camelot Park before Boomers took over when I was in Elementary School. I have fond memories at both the Boomers there and here in San Diego. I've been to this location several times throughout the years. I most recently came here on a date this past Friday. It was fun doing something different instead of going to a bar. My date and I played a round of mini golf and did the go-carts. We didn't realize until after we finished playing that there's two different golf courses. There's an easy Storyland course that's more for younger kids which we ended up doing but later we found out there's a Western-themed course that's a bit harder. Oh well, we still enjoyed. The go-carts were fun but it made me dizzy, I didn't realize in the past how bumpy the ride is ha ha. They have a batting cage which I've played a couple of times in the past. There's also bumper boats and a couple of rides including a ferris wheel. Obviously this place is geared towards kids but I think it can also be fun for adults to go every once and in a while and act like a kid :D
